It’s now well established that our unfortunate western eating habits have massive consequences for our health but also our planet and that our oceans are among the most fragile hence vulnerable environments.

At SEAFOOD REBOOT, we believe that innovation should help bring forward more sustainable

and natural food alternatives and that innovation should be inspired by nature.

As a team, we’re all about creating, producing, and delivering the next generation

of delicious plant-based seafood (comprising notably ingredients from algae origin), so that each and every one of us can contribute to a better world in a positive way while enjoying a delicious meal.

WHY  CARE  ABOUT

THE OCEANS?

Once upon a time were the oceans, where it all began.

And they need to stay alive, so we will too!

Our oceans in a nutshell: they represent 71% of the Earth’s surface, produce 50% of the oxygen we breathe every day, absorb 25% of the CO2 emissions generated by human activity, and are home to more than 250 000 species… Yet, as of today, only 5% of this blue immensity has already been explored! At SEAFOOD REBOOT we’re ocean lovers and we’re excited that our creativity can be nourished by a new countless variety of marine ingredients.

WHY SEAFOOD ALTERNATIVES?

Let’s face it, the way we catch fish is, to say the least, a bit too fishy…  90% of fish stocks are either fully exploited or overexploited.

Plastics, deep-sea fishing, mile-long fishing nets, heavy metals, and other sources of pollution... All too many reasons for us to meet the challenge of replacing our fish friends in our plates with plant-based alternatives for a positive impact on our health and oceans.

WHY NOW?

We need a more diverse diet and a more plant-based one. It is wiser from a health perspective, smarter from an economic perspective, and a safer choice for our planet.

From Algama, a French tech start-up dedicated to finding food applications from algae origin, to SEAFOOD REBOOT, the French start-up leading the way to better formulated plant-based seafood, there is a common research and a shared motivation to bring in the field of seafood the same energy, creativity and expertise that has been deployed for the last ten years in the area of meat or dairy plant-based alternatives.

 

Optimistic by nature, realistic by obligation, confident that innovation and well-conducted research will help design more sustainable and natural food alternatives, we have begun our journey towards inventing exciting products that taste good, feel good, and do good!

WHO IS BEHIND

THIS PROJECT?

The project was born when two experienced and enthusiastic entrepreneurs met with Algama, a pioneer in the valorization of seaweed for food applications.

 

They immediately began looking for a team of food-changers passionate about taste and nutrition and committed to act for good. Among them, a talented R&D team that has no limits in creating clean, sustainable and natural food solutions

WHAT KIND 

OF PRODUCTS?

At Seafood Reboot we can be a bit picky, especially when talking about food (probably our French side?).  And we hardly compromise. That’s why we want to offer products that are not only delicious but healthy and sustainable.


The simplest possible list of natural ingredients, mouthwatering recipes. Needless to say, vegan, and GMO-free. Our MOTTO? We Are What We Eat.

At Seafood Reboot we think small drops build up into big oceans. And that we, together, can make a big impact. We want to bring together the optimistic of this world, the ones who believe that changing is an opportunity, and who are confident in what’s coming next. Our ambition is to spread with energy and joy our positive vision and set the stage so that a brighter tomorrow can happen today. 

WHY USING 

ALGAE?

We aim to create plant-based seafood… but seafood means ingredients from the sea and plant-based products mean no animals. Inspired by nature, we naturally turned to the variety of available algae, 100% natural, 100% plant-based, 100% animal-free.

With extraordinary properties: nutritional bombs (proteins, omega 3, vitamins, …), they are simple to grow with incomparable yields compared to cultivated land crops.

Reporting directly to the CTO, your mission will be to define and implement the company's R&D and innovation strategy by managing the projects under development.
